Project Title: Unpainted Nebraska x 20

Status: Complete

Ship Date: Most likely 6-12

5-29-20: Thank you for stopping by your project will be underway soon.

5-31-20: Good news! Your project is In Prep mode. Lots of little pieces glueing up and getting ready for assemblage. Nothing to see yet. However, most likely the eve of June 1 will let another tale. Stay tuned!

6-1-20: And we’re off! Things are starting to take shape. A little here and a little there. Here are a few pics of some underway.

6-3-20: And we have some brewing. Looks like it’s up to 11 at half status. Still chipping away at the stone.

6-8-20: And we have all 20 at half mast. That is to say the tops are gluing up. Then it’s the hanging cleans, cleanup, and pack up. Look like they will go out by the end of the week at the latest. Most likely Wed, Thurs, so you’ll see them next week Mon or Tues. Not too far off estimated turnaround.

6-10-20: Things are looking good for a FedEx drop off on Friday. The 20 panels are pretty much complete. Just do some finishing touches and pack. That will happen tomorrow for a goal of dropping them off at FedEx on Friday. Here is a sneak peak. Additional layout info later in another entry. Thanks for waiting BTW.

6-12-20: And they’re off! You’ll see a tracking email soon. Thank you for supporting a small business during these times. Look for a more detailed update on the step by step layout of the batches. More soon cheers!

6-16-20: Here is a breakdown of the layouts for the '4’ x 4’ and 2’ x 2’ groupings. At least the way they were laid out prior to shipping….Feel free to do whatever you see fit of course.

  • Each panel is marked 1, 2, 3, or 4

  • See attached grid for designed placement below.

  • It doesn’t matter which numbered panel goes where. The 1,2,3,4 guide is to create a diamond shape.

  • In the pics below shows that the panels were mounted in “dead wood” which is a sheet of 3/4” or 1/2” Plywood the size of the 12sq 4’ x 4’ shape and 2’ x 2’ 4sf shape.

  • The idea of the “dead wood” (optional) is just a tip to avoid excessive holes in the brick wall as seen in the studio pics. It requires only 4 anchor points to the wall rather than many more with the cleats. It also provides a square grid.

  • Upon the “dead wood” the hanging cleats were mounted. The panels then hang on the cleats.

  • In these pics 4’ strip cleats were used for the 4’ x 4’. Includes in the kit are 12 6” cleats. However, one can draw a line and center them within the grid. They drop nicely at 4 1/8” above the bottom lines of each 12” x 12” row.

  • Once the cleats are on strat with mounting them on the bottom.

  • A good tip is to not mount the top row of cleats until one has hung the lower rows. As the nature of the beast is: things tend to grow a bit. So by adding the top row last one can achieve a snug fir to the top row.

  • That’s about it. If there are any questions feel free to ask.
